    Herd Manager / Maintenance

Reference no: 8HR998
Posted: 20 Mar 2018
Salary: Negotiable
Location: Taupo, New Zealand
Duration: Permanent - Full-time
Start Date: 1 June 2018

Theland Farm Group is one of the few dairy farming businesses in New Zealand that has control of their milk product right through to the consumer.  What this means for our farming team is that every-day you know exactly who you are producing milk for, you know what they want, and you know how to produce it.

This is an 1800 cow farm with modern set up, good quality housing, and a great team environment.  About half of your time will be the management of tractor work on-farm, including cropping, re-grassing, weed control, feeding out and machinery maintenance.

You need to be experienced in operating machinery and mature in your approach to it.  Some of the machinery you will be operating on a regular basis includes a:

  • 250hp tractor
  • 18 cubic metre feedout wagon
  • 5T telehandler

But it’s not just all about the machinery - the other half of the role will see you tackling typical Herd Manager work, such as milking, young / dry-stock management on support blocks, calf rearing, and digger operation.
